What We Heard at the Show

Throughout the event, we had countless conversations with dealers, distributors, builder/remodelers, and more. Here are some of the most frequent comments we heard:

  • “This isn't wood!?” Many attendees were convinced our Rift Cut doors were made of wood, a testament to their authentic look and high-quality craftsmanship.

  • “These shaker doors are stunning.” Visitors loved the aesthetic of our exterior shaker doors—so much so that several said they wished they could even use them in interior applications.

  • “The energy efficiency innovation experience was fascinating.” The interactive experience in our conference room left attendees surprised, intrigued, and gratified by the advancements we’re making in energy efficiency, especially with our partners Miru and Aeroshield.

  • “Thank you for more fire-rated door options.” Many visitors appreciated the new selection of fire-rated options available, catering to style and safety.

  • “We’ve been waiting for this!” The demand for WBD and HVHZ ratings for ODL doors and doorglass was evident, with many attendees expressing their excitement about these highly anticipated ratings.

  • “The Keystone frame is going to be big.” The Keystone frame continues to perform well in the market, and its feature in the IBS New Product Zone reinforced its forward-thinking design and ability to meet industry need.

Major Trends We Spotted

IBS is always a hotspot for new and maturing trends - here are several influencing the future of homebuilding and design:

  • Oversized Home Features: It's no surprise that this trend showed up again at IBS. From large entryways to expansive windows, homeowners and builders are gravitating toward grand, statement-making elements.

  • Tactile Experiences: Textured surfaces and finishes that invite touch and interaction were prominently featured, reinforcing the importance of material feel in design choices.

  • Safety & Security: There was a continued emphasis on solutions that enable aging-in-place, multi-family homes, and disaster resistance, including impact-rated products and accessibility design.

  • Wellness-Centric Design: Consumer preferences continue to shift towards designs that support wellness, including natural lighting, energy efficiency, and biophilic elements that create a sense of calm and comfort in the home.
