Latest News: ODL Offers New Rain, Baroque Textures of SDL Doorglass

ODL, Inc. (ODL), a leading building products supplier of decorative and clear door glass and entry treatments, introduces two new doorglass textures to its line of Simulated Divided Light (SDL) doorglass.

The doorglass – now available in Rain and Baroque textures – sits in the ODL EVOLVE® frame. ODL is the first doorglass manufacturer to use injection molded SDL frames – a process by which the SDL bar and the frame are created together, rather than by applying the SDL bar to the glass and frame separately. This makes the frame easier to install and less likely to warp or separate from the frame. SDL glass replicates the look of a true divided light, but the single pane of glass makes production more efficient, which results in cost savings that are passed along to the customer.

“We are excited to introduce these two uniquely beautiful textures that will enhance the design aesthetics of our SDL door glass and EVOLVE door frames,” says Amanda Fowler, national marketing manager, Pro Channel at ODL. “The new textures combined with the grid pattern of SDL door glass bring variety and an on-trend design element to our spectrum of privacy glass offerings.”

The two new textures have varying levels of privacy through their translucent designs. ODL’s earlier SDL models with clear glass offered very little privacy to homeowners.

SDL_texturesRain, as its name implies, resembles how a downpour looks running down a glass surface. Its asymmetric and playful design brings a high level of privacy to a home.

Baroque offers a more moderate level of privacy through a flowing design with a soothing element to it due to a lack of hard lines in the glass. Its softness is a stark contrast to the dynamic look of the Rain texture.

The patterns of the new textures also add an attractive design element to doors, with more of a design statement and interest than clear glass.
