Latest News: Destination Doorglass Line Offers Minimalist Aesthetics

ODL, Inc.(ODL), a leading building products supplier of decorative and clear door glass and entry treatments, has introduced a new line, Destination Doorglass, which will be debuting at the 2017 International Builders’ Show in Orlando.

Minimalistic Design

Trends in home design and architecture, including entryway doorglass, show an increasing interest for minimalist style. Both architects and homeowners seek clean lines and simple patterns. With these demands in mind, ODL created the Destination Doorglass collection – a doorglass line that incorporates both linear and organic patterns, while providing homeowners high-visual privacy without filtering out natural sunlight.

“Homeowners want to create an inviting environment that reflects their individuality,” said Roger Finch, senior channel manager, ODL USA. “The Destination line incorporates a unique touch to the entryway, while acknowledging the growing trend of minimalism we are seeing in home design.”

The new collection was inspired by the concept that home is a destination. It features four different designs – Courtyard, Crosswalk, Parkway and Waterside – each with their own unique take on minimalism.

New Designs

  • Courtyard incorporates wrought iron designs that create a strong and subtle look with its pronounced fretwork.
  • Crosswalk brings modern design to lifethrough strong linear lines juxtaposed by bold pops of gray glass. Crosswalk’s look is abstract, modern and stylish.
  • Parkway creates symmetry in a home’s entrance. A center stripe of streamed glass provides an even balance.
  • Waterside is a natural, free-flowing design, bringing to mind a flowing river or grasses swaying in the breeze.

Durability and Resistance

Destination Doorglass meets rigorous quality standards for air resistance, water resistance and door slamming. The products are certified by the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC), which evaluates glass performance, durability and longevity. Additionally, the doorglass must survive ODL’s in-house test of 125,000 slam cycles before it’s introduced to the market.
